ABOUT THE ROLE
Hims & Hers is on a mission to empower people to live healthier lives. We’re hiring Staff Software Engineers across several of our platform teams. Each team builds the backend systems and web experiences that drive patient acquisition, retention, engagement, and satisfaction.
In this highly visible, high-impact role, you’ll own the architecture of core systems in your domain and directly influence key business metrics across our platform.
YOU WILL
- Lead the design and architecture of scalable and performant backend solutions that meet product requirements and enhance the experience of the platform you support
- Own the architecture of core systems within your domain, including correctness, state management, and workflow orchestration across the teams and systems you integrate with
- Partner closely with engineering teams across the organization to drive cross-functional technical initiatives and ensure platform decisions scale across the organization
- Provide mentorship on best practices, design patterns, and coding standards
- Advocate for the team’s technical needs within the broader engineering organization
- Participate in product discovery and validation through prototypes and experiments
- Partner with product and design to ensure platform capabilities support an intuitive end-to-end customer experience
- Drive strategic technical decisions to improve security, scalability, and performance
- Break down complex projects into actionable tasks
- Establish and enforce consistent coding and testing standards
- Initiate efforts to reduce technical debt and enhance workflow efficiency
